Bathurst Regional Council’s 2016 Jobs Expo is expected to attract a bumper crowd this year with lots on offer for those on the hunt for a new job, or a career change.
The Jobs Expo, which is being coordinated in partnership with the Central Western Careers Advisers and proudly sponsored by TAFE Western, will be held on Tuesday, 23rd August at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. Doors will open at 9am with approximately 50 exhibitors in attendance including a large presence from TAFE Western.
Mayor of Bathurst Cr Gary Rush said Bathurst Regional Council is proud to be organising the expo for the third year in a row.
“Last year’s event was a major success with around 1400 job seekers and school leavers through the door. 2016 is anticipated to be even bigger and better with numbers expected to reach 1800 with the inclusion of schools attending from around the region."
“By supporting the local business community through initiatives like these, Council can continue to provide ongoing benefit to the wider community through jobs growth and developing the local economy,” Cr Rush said.
TAFE Western has jumped on board as the Major Sponsor of the Bathurst Jobs Expo for the second year in a row.
“TAFE Western is looking forward to catching up with students, job seekers and people who might be looking for a career change, showing them that TAFE has plenty of exciting options to consider,” TAFE Western Bathurst College Student Engagement Officer Angela-Trevor Jones said.
“Some of the courses we’ll showcase include Community Services, Automotive, Early Childhood Education and Care, Business Administration, Engineering, Nursing, Electrical, Education Support, Screen and Media, Fitness and Hospitality – just to name a few.”
