Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation has again become the most popular course at TAFE NSW Lithgow in 2017, Deputy Regional General Manager Adam Bennett announced today.
After relinquishing top spot in 2016 to the Certificate II in Kitchen Operations course, the Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation course experienced an increase in interest and enrolments in 2017.
Mr Bennett said the Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways was second most popular in Lithgow, with Certificate II in Kitchen Operations actually experiencing more enrolments this year than last, but slipping to third most popular.
“Just to emphasise how popular Outdoor Recreation courses are at Lithgow, the certificates II, III and IV were all in the top 10 most popular courses,” Mr Bennett said.
“Learning important skills in bushwalking, mountain bike riding, roping, canoeing and cross country skiing - are just some of the fun-filled activities available in this course which can lead to entry level employment in Outdoor Adventure Guiding, Outdoor Education or in the Corporate Outdoor Training sector.”

Mr Bennett said enrolments for 2018 at TAFE NSW were open now, and would be accepted right across the Christmas period.
“TAFE NSW has more than 1200 courses to choose from – so there’s something for everyone no matter where you live, your skill level or qualifications,” Mr Bennett said.
“With so many exciting options, and with research revealing that TAFE NSW graduates have a higher median income and employment rate than university graduates, there’s never been a better time to consider TAFE.”
