Apprentices from Dubbo, Parkes, Cowra, Canberra, Bathurst and Orange will take part tomorrow in a workshop where they will learn about, and put into practice, state of the art vehicle ‘wrapping’ techniques as part of their trade apprenticeship and Certificate III in Signcraft at Orange College.
Wayne Stewart, Signage Teacher at Orange College said “This will be a fantastic opportunity for our students to work alongside professionals in the art of vehicle wrapping using a vinyl film, which has a built in memory. The vinyl film, when heated, can be stretched around the contours and corners of vehicles and this is the latest trend in the signage industry” he said. “Students will also learn about large wall murals and window graphics”.
Paul McDonell, owner McSigns in Orange said “Being able to learn and then apply the latest skills in sign craft is an important of an apprentices’ training. The workshop is being run by highly qualified trainers from Avery and Spandex and it is really beneficial for the students to be able to learn from some of the best fitters (applicators) in the industry.”
