From a young age Hayley Wellings had a passion for teaching children. Now, thanks to a dedication to study and professional development, her passion has become a reality.
Upon completing a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE NSW Bathurst, Ms Welling’s noticed many doors opening exciting opportunities for her which led to assisting, operating and directing child care centres in the Bathurst region.
“With the Diploma, the opportunities are endless you can become a nanny, a family day care educator, a centre director or a room leader. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far, becoming the Director of Milestones Day Care Centre was a real highlight of my career,” she said.
“I realised working directly with children was my passion so I went back to being a leader in the babies room which is where I am now at Milestones Day Care Centre. In here, I am able to be creative with the children and put my own mark on the future of our next generation.
“TAFE NSW gave me the support, encouragement and hands-on skills I needed to work in the child care industry.”
TAFE NSW Early Childhood Education teacher, Stephanie Palmer is delighted with all that Hayley has already achieved in her short career.
“Hayley was a motivated learner, she embraced opportunities as they arose and worked hard to complete her academic work to a high standard,” Mrs Palmer said.
“Hayley approached everything with a smile and made people around her feel comfortable instantly.
“She displayed a strong work ethic which resulted in great work opportunities, career advancement and job satisfaction.”
