About the Course

This qualification reflects the role of skilled operators who use a broad range of tourism or travel skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel or tourism services. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems. Many people have supervisory responsibilities and plan, monitor and evaluate the work of team members.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in many travel and tourism industry sectors and for a diverse range of employers including travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, inbound tour operators, tourist attractions, visitor information centres and other tourism businesses.

- account coordinator
- assistant manager
- marketing coordinator
- operations supervisor
- product coordinator
- promotions officer
- reservations sales or call centre supervisor
- senior operations coordinator
- senior or supervisory retail consultant
- sales coordinator
- sales executive.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

How will I study?

This qualification provides a pathway to work in the tourism industry sales and operational department Visitor information sector, also sales and product development area.

While there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, TAFE Western conditions of entry to this course are:• Demonstrates an aptitude towards the qualification
• Shows a willingness to participate in an online study environment
• the ability to work independently

You will need access to:
• Good internet service and computer
• Use software to create, save and edit documents
• Upload files

Once students are enrolled a study plan will be developed in consultation with the student, delivery will be monitored on a weekly basis with support from teacher.

This program includes activities which are to be completed in your own time.

When will I study?

This course is delivered via Online, Posted resources and Connected classroom

Class attendance is Part time

Course content is delivered on TAFE Western’s online learning website. Your teacher will provide you with additional support online, over the phone or via email. This program includes activities which are to be completed in your own time.

Course length: 36 Weeks

What will I pay?

A course related charge of $350.00 is applicable to this course; the fee is for learner resources.

The amount you pay will depend on your individual circumstances.

TAFE NSW Government-subsidised fee (for eligible students): Up to $1,820.00 per course (GST free).

The fee that is displayed is the price for a student completing their second qualification and meeting eligibility criteria. The fee you pay may be lower depending on your personal circumstances and eligibility for a subsidised place, a concession or an exemption. In some cases there are limited government subsidised places available.

Please contact your nearest TAFE Western campus or call us on 1300 823 393 for a personal fee assessment and to find out if you are eligible for a government subsidised place. If you do not gain a subsidised place you may be able to enrol and pay the non-government subsidised fee.

A payment must be made towards your course fee (if applicable) at the time you enrol or your place in the class will not be confirmed and you will not be able to access any of your learning resources.

Additional Costs

There is an additional cost for Materials of $350.00.
