This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of junior administrative positions who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.

Available as a traineeship

This course is targeted to people who have access to workplaces which will provide experiences and learning to support the agreed units for the qualification.

TAFE at School (TVET)

TAFE Western offers many face to face and flexible TVET courses giving you the option of gaining a vocational qualification whilst you are at school. A TVET qualification can count towards your HSC, and 74.8% of TAFE graduates move into employment upon completion of their vocational qualifications. TVET is a great way to gain some practical skills in an adult learning environment, and the skills and experience you learn could also count towards your next qualification.

School Trainee

This course is targeted to people who have access to a combination of school, part time employment and vocational study.

All training will be conducted in the workplace and supported by:

  • learning resources provided by TAFE Western
  • standard operating procedures and work instructions available in the workplace
  • equipment provided in the workplace

Students undertaking employment based learning will have access to TAFE facilities and support including:

This course will prepare you for entry into the workplace in an office environment. You will be supported during your lessons with resources and a fully qualified teacher.

When will I study?

Class attendance is Part time

The earliest start date for this course will be 05/02/2019. This course is flexible on Tuesday from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. You will be expected to complete units consistently to complete within twelve months.

Course length: 6 hours per week for 41 Weeks every Tuesday

Classes start at 9:00 AM and end at 12:30 PM

What will I pay?

The amount you pay will depend on your individual circumstances.

TAFE NSW Government-subsidised fee (for eligible students): Up to $1,050.00 per course (GST free).

The fee that is displayed is the price for a student completing their second qualification and meeting eligibility criteria. The fee you pay may be lower depending on your personal circumstances and eligibility for a subsidised place, a concession or an exemption. In some cases there are limited government subsidised places available.

How will I study?

This course will be conducted at the TAFE Wilcannia Campus or off campus or off campus providing the student has an internet connection and a suitable device to connect and access the classroom. You are also required to do additional work outside of the classroom sessions. There will be a weekly three hour classroom session delivered at the Cobar campus for 18 weeks. The bulk of the course must be completed via self-directed study in your own time where you will be able to connect with your teacher via email and phone.
