TAFE Western prides itself on offering training and education to people of all ages and abilities. In fact, more than 10 per cent of all enrolments are people with a disability, and more than 25 per cent are people over the age of 40.
Orange’s Zac Trengove and Tracy Clenton each fit into one of these categories and have both just successfully completed a Certificate III and Certificate II in Business course respectively.
“I thoroughly enjoyed completing the Certificate III in Business, it gave me the opportunity to further my existing skills, to learn new ideas and to meet some very interesting and fantastic people,” Mr Trengove said.
“Once the course is finished it leaves you with a feeling of satisfaction and you can’t wait to do the next course in business,” Ms Clenton added.
Both students agreed that TAFE Western’s teachers went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure all participants learnt as much as possible from each class.
“I really enjoyed going to TAFE, the staff are fantastic - they know the course material, they have had experience in their field, and they want to help their students as much as possible. TAFE Western Orange College is also very accessible to everyone,” Mr Trengove said.
“Not only do you learn new skills, you have great teachers who are there to give you support and encourage you to do your best. I’m proud of myself for sticking with the course,” Ms Clenton added.
Mr Trengove hopes that completing both the Certificate II and III in Business will lead to full or part-time employment, while Ms Clenton has enrolled in the Certificate III in Business to continue to improve her skills.
“I would recommend anyone who was looking for a great course to consider the Certificate II in Business,” Ms Clenton said.
