TAFE Western continues to remain an excellent choice for hundreds of Year 12 school leavers in western NSW, with an extensive range of hands-on courses and learning options that can deliver real employment outcomes.
That’s the belief of Institute Director Kate Baxter, who has encouraged the students to consider a TAFE Western course as a pathway to an exciting career.
“This time of year can be very exciting but at the same time very daunting for students as they receive their HSC results and start to think about their futures post school education,” Ms Baxter said.
“I’d like to remind all of this year’s school leavers that TAFE Western continues to be western NSW’s leading education and training provider and year after year we help deliver positive employment outcomes.
“TAFE is an exciting, viable option for many school leavers because we offer real hands-on learning experiences and on-the-job experiences rather than just classroom learning.”
Ms Baxter said 2015 figures had shown the most popular courses at TAFE Western included courses in outdoor recreation, education support, automotive, construction plant operations, early childhood education, plumbing and agriculture.
“Carpentry, electrical, health, community services, building and construction, animal studies and hospitality are other courses that are always very popular,” Ms Baxter said.
“There will be many school leavers out there who have no idea what they’d like to do now school is over and with more than 200 courses available, TAFE Western really does have exciting options available for everyone.”
Enrolments for 2016 are now being accepted. For more information about TAFE Western’s full range of courses, visit www.tafewestern.edu.au or phone 1300 823 393.
