Central west residents who have ever considered a career in the mental health industry are being encouraged to attend an information evening in Orange on Monday, June 6.
The information session is an important first step to enrolling in an exciting new TAFE Western and Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) mental health course, which both organisations hope to commence in July.
“We’re really excited about this new 12-month Certificate III Health Service Assistance course and the amazing opportunities it will provide participants,” TAFE Western Head Teacher Nursing and Health Sara Morgan said.
“There are some rewarding career options available at government and non-government sectors locally in the mental health industry and we felt that an information evening was vitally important to showcase and discuss these options and address any questions prospective students may have.”
Ms Morgan said those who attended the information session would have unprecedented access to both TAFE Western staff and teachers to discuss training, and also WNSWLHD mental health experts to find out more about available career options.
The information evening will be held at TAFE Western’s F Block at 5.30pm on Monday, June 6.
“It will be very informal and a great way to find out more about this life-changing opportunity,” Ms Morgan said.
“This new course is a wonderful chance for up to 20 students to get quality training, on-the-job experience and life-long skills that have the potential to deliver real employment outcomes.”
