Jay Medley and Melissa Anderson are working towards creating meaningful pathways between education and employment in the Orana region as the new TAFE NSW Service Coordinators at TAFE NSW Dubbo.
Mr Medley (Myall Street), who has lived in Dubbo all his life, is truly passionate about ensuring Dubbo’s workforce is equipped with job-ready skills for today and into the future.
“Working as a TAFE NSW Services Coordinator means extensive community liaison which is extremely rewarding and enjoyable for me,” he said.
“My background includes working in disability services, mental health and child protection – all roles that involve putting the community first and that’s what I’m doing here at TAFE NSW Dubbo.
“I’m working towards building pathways and relationships between education and industry and ensuring that TAFE NSW is catering for the needs of local industries.
“Providing meaningful skill development opportunities will allow participants to not only add to their own professional development but increase the quality of workplaces and industries as a whole.”
TAFE NSW Dubbo IPROWD graduate, Ms Anderson (Narromine Rd) plans to share her experiences as a student at TAFE NSW with the community.
“I was so impressed with the supportive culture at TAFE NSW as a student, that I decided to become a part of the team and do the same for others,” she said.
“I’m enjoying working closely with the community, sharing my story and empowering them to make the most of the variety of training opportunities available at TAFE NSW Dubbo.”
