There’s been significant change at TAFE NSW Parkes, with the Certificate IV in Community Services Course taking over as the most popular course offered there in 2017.
Regional General Manager Kate Baxter today revealed the Certificate IV in Community Services Course had replaced 2016’s most popular course, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course, at the top.
“The Certificate IV in Community Services course is extremely popular in Parkes because of strong industry demand, and because our students enjoy learning from industry experts,” Ms Baxter said.
“The fact that employers trust our training, which can lead to exciting, real-life employment prospects in Community Services is also a telling factor.”
Ms Baxter noted the Certificate II in Business and Certificate III in Individual Support had remained the third and fourth most popular courses at Parkes, with the Certificate III in Engineering experiencing an increase in enrolments and interest to jump to fifth.

“TAFE NSW has more than 1200 courses to choose from – so there’s something for everyone no matter where you live, your skill level or qualifications,” Ms Baxter said.
“With so many exciting options, and with research revealing that TAFE NSW graduates have a higher median income and employment rate than university graduates, there’s never been a better time to consider TAFE.”
