AMAZING OPPORTUNITY: Last year's children's services Outbound Mobility Students outside Wuxi International Child Care in China.
TAFE Western International Projects Officer Amber Mastrangeli is encouraging eligible nursing, welfare, business and children’s services students to consider applying for this year’s life-changing Outbound Mobility Program.
Mrs Mastrangeli said TAFE Western’s Outbound Mobility Program provided students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel overseas and learn important new skills.
“I am very excited that the program has expanded very quickly over the last two years,” she said. “The feedback from last year’s students really reflects how beneficial this program is, both professionally and personally.
“Each program is slightly different but they all focus on providing a two-week intensive, industry-specific experience with international businesses and organisations.
“This is obviously a really exciting opportunity for TAFE Western students to get immersed in a unique culture while learning skills that will remain with them for their entire careers.”
Mrs Mastrangeli said only 10 places would be available in each program, with $2,000 assistance for each place to put towards accommodation and airfare costs.
“To be eligible, students must currently be studying at Certificate IV level or higher in one the relevant sectors, be 18 years or older, and be able to arrange an Australian passport before departure,” Mrs Mastrangeli said.
“I will be visiting students in their classes in Orange, Dubbo and Bathurst over the next few weeks to provide more information about this fantastic experience.
“I want students to feel supported through the entire process, so answering any questions they may have and providing information about the benefits of participating is very important.”
Mrs Mastrangeli encouraged interested students to keep an eye on the TAFE Western International website (www.tafewestern.edu.au/international) for details about application periods and the costs involved.
