Licensing in Forklift

About the Course

This course provides the skills and knowledge required for the operation of a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachment, for licensing purposes.

You will complete theory and practical skills that are required to prepare you for SafeWork NSW assessment. The national assessment is designed for users and operators of forklift trucks who wish to obtain a SafeWork NSW High Risk Work (HRW) licence (LF). The following Performance Criteria applies:

4. Shut down and Secure Forklift Truck

How will I study?

Delivery Location: Narromine Road Rurual Skills

This campus based course is for people who wish to acquire a SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence for operation of a forklift. You will undertake your learning and assessment in a classroom at TAFE NSW Narromine Road Dubbo Campus. You will get the opportunity to operate the Forklift over the two days of training and take home work to complete in your own time. The course will involve theory and practical training plus SafeWork NSW assessment. On successful completion of the course you will receive the TAFE Transcript of Academic Record and Statement of Course Completion. Once you successfully complete the SafeWork NSW assessment you will be entitled to apply for your High Risk Work Licence for Forklift.

In order to be assessed by Safe Work NSW you must be 18 years of age. Students also need to have good English, Literacy and Numeracy skills as SafeWork NSW mandates that assessments be completed in English and there will be additional material to read and load calculations to carry out.

In order to be assessed by Safe Work NSW you must be 18 years of age.

It is extremely important that participants provide documents of identity that add up to 100 points on the day of the SafeWork NSW assessment. These documents should be the same documents that you will provide to the Australia Post Customer Service Officer as evidence of identity when you lodge your application for your LF Forklift Licence. A detailed list of the POI requirements will be made available to the participant upon registration into the course.
This course can also be customised specifically for a business, at a time/date/place that best meets your needs.

This program includes activities which are to be completed in your own time.
