ENROLMENT TIME: Student Drew Elliott secured his spot in the Screen and Media Diploma course at TAFE Western this week.
Aspiring filmmakers, chefs, hairdressers, mechanics and electricians have been among the hundreds of people registering for semester one courses at TAFE Western’s Bathurst College this week.
Prospective students have been meeting teachers, learning what courses are available and enrolling for classes which start on February 1.
Media teacher Simon Fraser said future students should register for places quickly for popular classes in creative industries, such as media and design.
“Teachers and support staff are on site now for people to talk to and help enrol them into the right courses,” he said.
Drew Elliott enrolled in the Diploma of Screen and Media course this week, saying the media courses available at TAFE Western’s Bathurst College was one of the best resourced in NSW.
“I did Cert III and Cert IV Media last year and am really excited about doing the Diploma of Screen and Media in 2016. They have new equipment and the studios are amazing and teachers are very supportive. I can’t wait to develop more skills in filmmaking, photography, camerawork and directing,” he said.
"If you want to study but are worried about the expense, there is VET FEE-HELP available for higher level courses which can help remove the barrier of cost, just talk with us to find out more.” Mr Fraser added.
