Enrolments with TAFE Western are now open for 2015 after the organisation was awarded a NSW Government Smart and Skilled contract.
The NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled reforms commence on January 1, 2015 and provide eligible students with an entitlement to government subsidised training up to and including a Certificate III qualification and government funding for Certificate IV and above courses in targeted priority areas.
Ms Kate Baxter, TAFE Western’s Institute Director said that while the changes may seem complex support was available at local TAFE Western colleges to help students navigate the new system and provide answers to their questions.
“Anyone thinking of completing a qualification in 2015 should talk to one of TAFE Western’s friendly staff now to secure a place. TAFE Western can help prospective students to enrol in their chosen course and assist with individual eligibility criteria.
“Under Smart and Skilled, students will also have to obtain a Unique Student Identifier but this can also be done at your local TAFE College.”
Ms Baxter added, “TAFE Western also provides support services through its student Hubs such as counselling and career services, Aboriginal and disability support services, online study help and library services.”
Enrolments for all courses being offered at TAFE Western in 2015 are now open. Prospective students should visit their local college or call 1300 823 393 for further information.
