Bathurst Regional Council’s 2015 Jobs Expo is expected to attract a bumper crowd with lots on offer for those on the hunt for a new job, or a career change.
The Jobs Expo, which is being coordinated in partnership with the Central Western Careers Advisers and proudly sponsored by TAFE Western, will be on Tuesday, October 27, at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. Doors will open at 9am with approximately 50 exhibitors in attendance, including a large presence from TAFE Western.
Bathurst mayor Gary Rush said Bathurst Regional Council is proud to be organising the expo for the second year in a row.
“Last year’s event was a major success with around 350 job seekers through the door. 2015 is anticipated to be even bigger and better with the Central West Jobs Expo now incorporated into the event,” Cr Rush said.
“By supporting the local business community through initiatives like these, Council can continue to provide ongoing benefit to the wider community through jobs growth and developing the local economy.”
TAFE Western has jumped on board as major sponsor for the Bathurst Jobs Expo, and is excited to be supporting the event in 2015.
"TAFE Western is an organisation that prides itself on providing training and education opportunities, which in turn can lead to successful employment outcomes, in and around the Bathurst region,” TAFE Western Bathurst College team leader Tracey Drinan said.
“It’s also very important for us to support community projects and events. After having a stall at last year’s expo and seeing first-hand some really positive outcomes, we jumped at the chance to be major sponsor this year.”
Skillset will also support the 2015 Jobs Expo.
“Skillset is now recruiting temporary and permanent positions as well as apprenticeships and traineeships so can really offer a complete solution to businesses and job seekers alike,” Skillset Workforce Manager Jane McWilliam said.
