TAFE Western remains western NSW’s leading provider of education and training for people with a disability.
Our specialist team of Disability Teacher Consultants assist students with a disability to succeed at TAFE and begin the road to an exciting career.
“Nearly 10 per cent of all enrolments at TAFE Western every year are students with a disability,” Teacher Consultant for Students with Hearing Impairments Jenelle Copeland said.
“Our Disability Teacher Consultants are specialists who ensure that students with a disability have equal access to education and training.
“We can help with arranging fee exemptions, pre-course advice, ongoing learning support, tutors, notetakers and interpreters. Our state-of-the-art learning equipment and facilities help cater for everyone, no matter their disability.”
Ms Copeland encouraged people with chronic medical conditions, physical or mobility impairment, learning disability, hearing impairment, vision impairment or mental health disability to consider TAFE Western as an inclusive education option.
“The NSW Government has announced exciting changes that will see Smart and Skilled courses in 2016 fee-free for people with a diagnosed disability,” Ms Copeland said.
“There’s never been a better time than now to enrol with TAFE Western.”
