Pay It Forward Director Karlie Irwin has paid tribute to the generosity of staff and students at TAFE NSW Orange, after a donation drive to help families in need was hailed a huge success.
Orange Student Hub staff were inspired to hold the donation drive after celebrating International Women’s Day (March 8), and TAFE NSW Psychologist and Counsellor Rachael Buckerfield took great pride in handing over hundreds of items collected through March at a special ceremony on Wednesday.
“I can’t thank TAFE NSW staff and students enough for their very generous donations of items like toothbrushes, toiletries, beauty products, handbags and toys for children,” Ms Irwin said.
“Pay It Forward have just purchased a five-bedroom house in Orange and these wonderful donations will positively impact many women and children who are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and other issues.”
Ms Buckerfield added, “We hope the donated items can help assist those members of society who are struggling and really need it,” she said. “I’m continually amazed at the generosity of students and staff at TAFE NSW, and we hope to continue to support Pay It Forward and other worthwhile charities in the future.”
