TAFE NSW Mudgee students Catherine Jongkind and Blake Large have been announced joint winners of the inaugural Rotary Club of Mudgee Scholarship.
The scholarship recognises students beginning their study journey at TAFE NSW and aims to encourage participation in further education and connectedness within the local Mudgee community.
Rotary Club of Mudgee President Sof Lee said this was the first time they have awarded the scholarship. He said both applicants were of such a high quality they could not be split.
“Both applicants have recently left school and have just begun their studies with a clear goal in mind. We hope the scholarship of $500 each will help them continue their studies and develop new and exciting interests at TAFE NSW,” he said.
TAFE NSW Student Engagement Officer Angie Trevor-Jones said Catherine, who is participating in the SEE program in Construction and Blake (Certificate II in Construction), were excited to receive the recognition.
“These scholarships are very generous and both the successful students and TAFE NSW are thrilled with Rotary Club of Mudgee’s support,” she said. “This financial support will allow Catherine and Blake to continue to study in a career they love, helping them get the skills and experience needed to make them job ready.”
Enrolments are now open for semester two at TAFE NSW and this is just one example of the financial support available to help students be whatever they want to be. For more information visit www.tafensw.edu.auor phone 131 601.
