Interest in TAFE NSW’s Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care remained strong in 2017, with Regional General Manager Kate Baxter today revealing it was the most popular course offered in Cowra for the second successive year.
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care was most popular, with Certificate II in Business again the second most popular course. Ms Baxter said the big change from 2016 was the popularity of the Certificate II Engineering course.
“The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care was not only extremely popular in Cowra, it’s actually TAFE NSW’s most popular course in western NSW,” Ms Baxter said.
“The Certificate II in Business is always very popular right across the state, but the big mover was the Certificate II in Engineering. It was just inside the top 10 in terms of popularity in Cowra in 2016, but was the third most popular course in 2017.
“This popularity is driven by strong industry demand, and because our students enjoy getting hands-on experience while learning from an industry expert in our workshop.
“Students are also excited by the fact that engineering is a huge growth area in NSW and the quality, well respected training students receive at TAFE NSW can lead to real-life employment opportunities.”

Ms Baxter said enrolments for 2018 at TAFE NSW were open now, and would be accepted right across the Christmas period.
“TAFE NSW has more than 1200 courses to choose from – so there’s something for everyone no matter where you live, your skill level or qualifications,” Ms Baxter said.
“With so many exciting options, and with research revealing that TAFE NSW graduates have a higher median income and employment rate than university graduates, there’s never been a better time to consider TAFE.”
