New challenges and learning experiences were two things that attracted Stacey Korn to her new position as Community Customer Support Officer with TAFE Western’s Nyngan College.
Three months into her role and she’s already become an important link between TAFE Western and the Nyngan community – helping provide positive outcomes for students.
“Working for TAFE Western I enjoy the freedom to engage with the local community, attending local events to promote the excellent services that TAFE Western Nyngan College offers, at the same time helping people achieve their study or work goals for the future,” Ms Korn said.
“My main focus is to now achieve an understanding in the Nyngan community about the types of services required, so we can look for future delivery of a wide range of options including TAFE Western Connect courses.
“If the course you want to study isn’t available where you live or work, TAFE Western Connect provides solutions with flexible study options that have the potential to change lives.”
Ms Korn has lived in Nyngan for 23 years, and brings a wealth of knowledge to her new position having spent two years working for Home Care Service of NSW as their Senior Project Officer.
“I wanted to challenge myself with new learning experiences and I saw TAFE Western as the perfect opportunity to achieve this goal,” she said.
“I really enjoy the interaction I have with the students who attend TAFE and I’m looking forward to assisting the community with first-class learning and education outcomes.”
TAFE Western Nyngan College will hold an industry and community luncheon on August 12 from 12.30pm to 2pm. The event will provide businesses, individuals and schools with an opportunity to see TAFE Western’s state-of-the-art facilities, and provide information about courses and exciting learning opportunities.
