TAFE Western’s second semester offerings will be on show at Broken Hill College’s open day on Thursday, June 23.
College Team Leader Byron Hooker said potential students would have unprecedented access to TAFE Western staff, teachers and industry experts during the open day from 9am to 6pm.
“Whether you’re a worker looking to upskill, a school student exploring options for next year or someone looking for an entirely new career path, there’s something for everyone at TAFE in Broken Hill,” Mr Hooker said.
“This open day will provide people with the perfect opportunity to come on down and check out our facilities and find out how we can help you with your training and education needs.”
Mr Hooker said some exciting new courses that will begin in the second semester (mid-July) included Hospitality and Commercial Cookery, Business and Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Bookkeeping, Accounting, Foundation Skills and many more.
“Many of our classes are available at night, online and via video conferencing, which means people who are full-time workers or have other commitments during the day don’t miss out,” Mr Hooker said.
“We also have many courses available through our award-winning TAFE Western Connect (TWC) program – meaning we can help provide teaching to suit everyone’s busy lifestyles.
“Gone are the days when students want to travel every day to study, or spend all day inside a classroom – so through TWC students can learn remotely, often from the comfort of their own home or workplace.”
Mr Hooker said a free barbecue lunch, along with tea and biscuits would be available and everyone was welcome.
