TAFE Western Grenfell College’s newest team member Rosslyn Williams is working hard to turn the small campus into a thriving learning centre.
Ms Williams is fast becoming an important link between TAFE Western and the Grenfell community with a strong focus on providing positive outcomes for students.
“Although this is a challenging role, I have experience turning small campuses into vibrant learning centres which cater for the needs of our customers in terms of courses, resources and facilities,” Ms Williams said.
“I am here to help people achieve their study and work goals for the future, while at the same time providing the local community with an understanding of the types of services TAFE Western offers.
“I would like to expand Vocational Education and Training (VET) opportunities for the Grenfell community, through a range of delivery options which may include face-to-face, video conferencing and utilising all the learning facilities that TAFE Western has.
“These are just some of the things I hope to achieve here at Grenfell.”
Ms Williams started with TAFE Western in April and came with lots of experience. She spent six years as an assistant buyer for fashion at Myer, more than 12 years at Telstra Training Services as team leader and spent the past two-and-a-half years turning TAFE Riverina at Corowa into a successful learning and education facility.
“I’m only relatively new to the role at Grenfell College but already I’m enjoying the interaction with the TAFE students, discussing courses with customers that suit their individual needs and helping our customers feel at ease about studying, especially those who haven’t studied for a long time,” Ms Williams said.
