Families with young children and family day carers will be pleased to hear that TAFE Play Sessions at Lithgow TAFE College in Hill Street will be returning during terms two and three.
Childcare students who need practical experience to complete their Certificate III in Children's Services run the Play Sessions. TAFE teachers support and monitor the progress of the students and assist them to put theory into practice as they play alongside the children. Each session will close with a circle-time where new games, rhymes, songs or stories will be shared.
Trudy Magus from TAFE at Lithgow said, "Our students are excited about meeting new children, and are looking forward to preparing a wonderful play environment and provide a service to the community as they complete the practical requirements of their studies.
The Play Sessions - affectionately known as "The Cubby House" will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from April 29th and every second Wednesday from 9.30 - 11.00 am.
Each session is limited to 16 places so interested parents and carers are advised to contact Jackie Risby at Lithgow TAFE on 6352 0469 as soon as possible. No names can be taken after April 2, 2008.
The cost to participate is only $4.00 per family, and $5.00 per Family Day Carer with children. Parents are asked to bring a piece of fruit for a communal platter and a small healthy snack and drink for their child for morning tea.
