TAFE Western Orange College’s TVET Open Day on August 3 is the perfect opportunity for potential students and their parents/guardians to get an up close look at the exciting career options available at TAFE Western.
TVET is TAFE delivered Vocational Education and Training for secondary students and TAFE Western Education Officer VET in Schools Jacquie Smith encouraged all Year 10 students to get along to the open day between 1-5pm.
“The main focus of the open day is to introduce TVET to the Year 10 students, giving them more viable career options to consider before they select their subjects for Years 11 and 12, and of course once they’ve completed school,” Ms Smith said.
“The open day will offer a first-hand look at TAFE Western’s state-of-the-art facilities, as well as providing access to TAFE teachers and student engagement officers who can address any questions you may have, including advice on courses, mobile learning options and much more.
“The open day will be held from 1-5pm and I encourage anyone who may be interested in studying next year or sometime in the future to come along. You never know what exciting career path you might find.”
Ms Smith said some of the most popular TVET courses offered at TAFE Western included Automotive, Nursing, Business, Construction, Electrotechnology, Children’s Services, Hospitality, Animal Services, Information Technology, Retail and Engineering – with many more options available.
