The 2017 TAFE Western Aboriginal Trainee of the Year is Certificate III in Business Administration student Ella Bass.
Ella demonstrated knowledge, leadership and skills well beyond her years while studying at TAFE and her story is one of personal triumph and success.
From the outset, Ella was determined to succeed. After competing Year 12 in 2015, she obtained a traineeship at NSW Health which she completed in 2016, well ahead of schedule.
Her work ethic and skills then led the organisation to employ Ella on higher grade duties once her traineeship was completed. She is currently in Newcastle studying a Bachelor of Business at the University of Newcastle.
Ella was well respected by her peers, a model student and employee and a very deserving winner of this award!
“Ella worked well as a team member. She has a lovely personality and was always pleasant, happy and helpful. Ella also demonstrated great initiative and went well and truly above what was expected of her as a trainee.” – Mary Northcote said.
