Early Childhood Education and Care, Nursing, Carpentry, Fitness and Aged Care were among TAFE Western Bathurst College’s most popular courses in 2015, Institute Director Kate Baxter announced today.
Ms Baxter believes these courses continue to be in high demand because of TAFE Western’s ongoing commitment to ensuring value for money learning.
“Institute-wide Early Childhood Education and Care and Aged Care courses are popular because there’s such a high demand in both of those industries and TAFE Western’s courses equip students with job-ready skills,” Ms Baxter said.
“Nursing, Carpentry and Fitness courses also attract a lot of interest because of TAFE Western’s focus on hands-on learning, which is much more popular with our students than sitting in the classroom all day.”

Ms Baxter said enrolments for 2016 at TAFE Western are now being accepted and changes to eligibility for Smart and Skilled will make it easier to access courses next year.
“In some instances training will be fee-free,” Ms Baxter said. “Changes to Smart and Skilled will provide easier and more affordable access to quality education and training options for thousands of people in the central west,” she said.
“For school leavers, people considering a new career or those simply needing to brush up on their skills, there’s never been a better time to consider TAFE.”
