TAFE Western Bathurst College has some exciting plans to recognise National Skills Week.
Bathurst College Student Engagement Officer Angela Trevor-Jones said on August 26 the college would have displays, special interactive exhibits and also a unique address from a former student to celebrate this significant occasion.
“This year’s theme is all about discovering an incredible journey to an exciting career,” Ms Trevor Jones said.
“National Skills Week at TAFE Western is about showcasing the diversity of vocational educational courses that can be undertaken and the range of pathways that can lead to a satisfying career.
“We have invited former student Stewart Sewell to come and give a presentation in the Student Hub on Wednesday at 10.30am.
“Stewart will talk about his vocational journey which started at TAFE and led him to study Exercise Science at Charles Sturt University and open his own Fitness Boot Camp business.
“Everyone is welcome to come and listen to Stewart and enjoy some morning tea following the presentation. We will have displays from a number of industry areas including nursing, children’s services, automotive, fitness, hospitality, business studies and electrotechnology.
“If people are thinking of a change of career or maybe just starting on a career pathway it would be a great opportunity to come and speak with our staff in the Student Hub.”
