TAFE Western Broken Hill College will offer the local community unprecedented access to their facilities and teachers during their annual open day on January 21.
Held in the Student Hub, Broken Hill College Team Leader Byron Hooker said the open day was a chance for the community to learn more about studying at TAFE Western in 2016.
“Whether you finished school in 2015 and are assessing your options, or you’re a worker looking to upskill or take an entirely new career direction, TAFE Western has options to cater for everyone,” Mr Hooker said.
“As we enter a new year now’s the perfect time to discover what you can do at TAFE and how we can help you on the path to an exciting and worthwhile career.”
Mr Hooker said teachers from a number of Broken Hill’s most popular courses will have displays in the Hub and would be happy to answer any questions prospective students may have.
These popular courses include Business, Information Technology, Metal Fabrication, Welding, Electrical, Community Services and Nursing, Foundation Skills and Hospitality.
“Not only will we have industry experts on hand to address any questions you may have, including advice on courses, mobile learning options and much more, but the open day will offer prospective students a first-hand look at TAFE Western’s state-of-the-art and award-winning learning facilities,” Mr Hooker said.
Other activities on the day will include a free sausage sizzle and local radio station 2BH/Hill FM will broadcast live from the college from 10am to 1.30pm.
The open day will be held from 9am to 6pm on Thursday, January 21, at the Argent Street College.
